From Sketches to Reality

The wedding jewelry I was working on became a reality this past weekend when the actual wedding happened so now it is safe to post pictures of the jewelry!

Laura & Justin ♥

I made the bridesmaids' jewelry, a set of earrings with a bracelet. If you refer back to this post, you can see the sketches and some of the examples I made for her to choose from.

The original sketches

The bride chose the fifth and last earring selection I made and we made some adjustments from the bracelet/necklace combo. The original was suppose to be a silk wrap that could be worn as a necklace or a triple wrap bracelet. However, as hard as I tried, I couldn't get that idea to work out into something I felt was wedding worthy, even though it was a casual beach wedding. It just didn't have the ooomph I was looking for....

Finally, I decided on doing a triple strand bracelet that would give the same idea and feeling but was strictly a bracelet. I added extra sparkle using faceted swarovski and glass shades of aqua and baby blue.

Congratulations to Laura and Justin! I went to highschool with both of them. I would've never guessed that these two would end up together and so happy! Just goes to show you that the Universe has other plans for us! ♥

I absolutely adore your sketches. I try to sketch but it never comes out as nice. And I love that you did it in color. That must have been nice for her to see. Thanks for sharing your process!
Enjoy the day!

Thank you Erin! Sketching is tough! I think it is something all of us jewelry designers need to practice more- myself at the tip top of that list. It really did help me solidify design choices in my head and help me keep a clear vision for a big project. Took me back to my art school days!

Hi Barbara, The wedding jewelry is fantastic! Perfect for a beach wedding! :)
Just thought I would come answer your question, The owl pendant is one I made myself, with wood and an owl image, you can find more like it in my shop

although I am pretty sure I am almost out of owls right now, I do have many other pretty things!
I gave you a follow, hope you can do the same! :)

Barbara,

Justin and I just wanted to thank you again for making the jewelry pieces for us to give the bridesmaids/use in the wedding. They turned out so beautiful and classy and the ladies LOVED them! Something they will wear often and also something that will bring back great memories! The whole process of giving you the items for "inspiration" to choosing the sketches/materials, to holding the final product in my hands was such a great experience!

Much blessings,
Laura and Justin Buzzell
