What's the origin of your name?
Actually, It is my great grandmother's name, Barbara Ann Aitken Eldred. She was a sweet lovely Scottish woman. I never knew my grandmother (her daughter) who passed in my infancy, so Grandma Eldred was for all purposes, my grandmother. I'm also told it means, "beautiful stranger" in Greek, and what's not to like about that? I never like the name as a child, but it is in it's time an old fashioned name, and now I'm proud of it. I meet very few women in my age group with the name, Barbara.
