And both shall row....

This is such a beautiful song... I appoligize for the video. It has the best audio that I could find on youTube, but the graphics are sorta cheesy. It is a live version.

From Lilith Fair, some years ago, featuring The Indigo Girls, Jewel, and Sarah McLachlan.

Here are the lyrics, which I love...

The water is wide, I can't cross o'er.
Neither I have wings to fly.
Build me a boat that can carry two,
And both shall row, my love and I.

Love is gentle, Love is kind
The Sweetest flower, when first it's new
But love grows old, and waxes cold
And fades away, like morning dew.

There is a ship, She sails the sea.
She's laden deep, as deep can be;
But not so deep as the love I'm in
And I know not if I sink or swim.

The water is wide, I can't cross o'er.
Neither I have wings to fly.
Build me a boat that can carry two,
And both shall row, my love and I.

♥ to you and the ones you love and who love you.

I haven't heard the James Taylor version, can you believe it? I lurvvvvv.... James Taylor though so I will look it up.

Since my Mike is an avid record collector, he brought home a folk album by Carolyn Hestor that had the song on it and we were both abhorred by her rendition, so it got me to searching for this fave.
